Jho Low's Pursuit for Presidential Pardon

Malaysian financier Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, has reportedly sought a presidential pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a Tuesday report from the Wall Street Journal. As of now, Reuters has been unable to independently verify the claim.

The Wall Street Journal cited insiders familiar with the case, stating that the pardon request was filed in recent weeks. The possible granting of this request could lead to the removal of U.S. criminal charges against Low. The Justice Department's website shows a pending request for a 'Pardon after Completion of Sentence' filed this year in Low's name, the report indicated.

Despite the filing, a White House official has said that Low's request is not currently being prioritized by the administration, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
