In a historic address after securing a victorious trust vote in Tamil Nadu's Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Vijay declared the advent of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) era. He portrayed his administration as a 'government of the common people,' promising social justice, equal opportunity, and secularism. TVK achieved 144 votes in favor during the floor test.

Addressing the Assembly, Vijay expressed appreciation for the members supporting the TVK government, pledging to create a democratic government devoted to the people of Tamil Nadu. Reflecting on TVK's rapid ascent, Vijay noted that the party, within three years of its founding, clinched a significant 34.92% of the vote share, dubbing it a 'whistle revolution.'

Vijay embraced the 'minority government' label, acknowledging a close miss on an absolute majority but viewing the minority status as an honor. He emphasized his administration's dedication to ensuring safety and representation for minority communities. Vijay reiterated foundational promises, emphasizing no bias between supporters and non-supporters, driven by icons like Periyar and Ambedkar, to deliver a democratic, inclusive government.
