U.S. President JD Vance voiced optimism on Wednesday regarding the ongoing negotiations with Iran, which aim to cease hostilities. His comments came after President Donald Trump dismissed Tehran's latest proposal as unacceptable.
"I think that we are making progress. The fundamental question is do we make enough progress that we satisfy the President's red line?" Vance remarked to reporters at the White House. "And the red line is very simple. He needs to feel confident that we put a number of protections in place such that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon," he emphasized.
The administration's stance remains firm on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear arms, a crucial factor in the diplomatic discussions. The President's 'red line' serves as a guiding principle in these talks, ensuring national and global security concerns are addressed.
