During an interview with NBC News, Rubio highlighted that any Chinese attempts to take Taiwan by force would be deemed a 'terrible mistake' by the US government. He was part of the delegation accompanying the president on his China trip.
Rubio acknowledged that the Taiwan issue surfaced during talks, as is customary. He dismissed fears of a potential clash despite Chinese urgings, reiterating that the dialogue typically involves Taiwan but ultimately shifts to other significant topics.
