BRICS Summit: Navigating Geopolitical Turbulence and Economic Uncertainties

India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar voiced grave concerns over conflicts in West Asia and their implications on global energy supplies and maritime stability, during a BRICS conclave in New Delhi. Jaishankar pressed for practical ways to address the geopolitical and economic uncertainty faced by the bloc.

Amid tensions between the UAE and Iran over energy infrastructure attacks, Jaishankar called for respecting sovereignty and employing dialogue in resolving conflicts. He affirmed India's dedication to de-escalation and initiatives aimed at bringing stability, while emphasizing the need for adhering to international law and protecting civilians.

The meeting saw discussions on ensuring safe maritime flows, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and regional instabilities. Jaishankar also highlighted the challenges posed by unilateral sanctions and technological advancements, advocating for BRICS solidarity and UN Security Council reforms to shape a more stable global order.
