In a political turn of events, Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala broke his silence on Friday after being passed over for the post of Kerala Chief Minister. Offering his support, he congratulated V D Satheesan, who was named the next CM by the party high command.

Despite speculation about his role in the new government, Chennithala underscored that the new Chief Minister holds the right to determine the Cabinet's composition. Speaking to the media post prayers at a temple, Chennithala stated that the electorate's recent decision was a move to end a decade of Left rule, and conveyed solidarity among UDF workers for Satheesan.

Chennithala, who left for Guruvayur Temple shortly after the announcement, reaffirmed his acceptance of the high command's decision and expressed optimism about garnering collective support for Satheesan's leadership. The announcement ended speculation about a potential ministerial position for Chennithala, following the declaration of the upcoming chief ministership.
