The official UAE news agency, WAM, reported the ceremonial escort as a gesture of welcome, narrated by the squadron leader who sought permission to accompany the Prime Minister's aircraft to the airport. This rare honor underscored the mutual respect and friendship between the two countries.
Arriving in Abu Dhabi as part of a broader five-nation tour, Prime Minister Modi was personally welcomed by the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. On social media, Modi thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the exceptional reception, calling it a testament to the strong bond shared by India and the UAE.
