Opposition Demands Fuel Price Rollback; Accuses BJP of Double Standards

The opposition parties BJD and Congress have called for an immediate rollback of the recent fuel price hike. They accuse the ruling BJP of adopting a 'double standard' in its stance on GST for petrol and diesel.

BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty highlighted the BJP's past demands for GST inclusion of fuel, contrasting it with the current administration's opposing actions. He emphasized that the government should honor its commitments and provide relief to consumers.

Meanwhile, Mahila Congress activists protested in Bhubaneswar by symbolically bringing petrol-less vehicles to a fuel station, while district president Shriya Mohanty cited past lower fuel prices as an example of better management. State Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan urged unity in addressing the issue, accusing some parties of misleading the public.
