China Rebukes Taiwan's Global Outreach at WHO Events

In a recent statement, China's foreign ministry expressed strong objection to countries offering platforms for what it termed "Taiwan independence separatist" activities. This development follows the arrival of Taiwan's foreign minister in Switzerland for events associated with a World Health Organization (WHO) meeting.

Chinese ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun criticized Taiwan's efforts to gain international attention, describing such actions as the behavior of "petty clowns" destined for failure. The remark was made during a routine press briefing on Monday.

This incident comes after China's declaration last week that it would once again bar Taiwan from participating in the WHO's annual World Health Assembly, reiterating its view of Taiwan as part of its sovereign territory.
