Ending a decade-long political intermission, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) ceremoniously assumed control in Kerala with 61-year-old VD Satheesan swearing in as the State's 13th Chief Minister. The oath-taking event, held at Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, witnessed grandeur and fanfare.
Soon after the ceremony, Satheesan convened his first Cabinet meeting, unfolding immediate measures to honor core electoral commitments. Among the pivotal promises is the proposal for free bus travel for women starting June 15, showcasing the administration's commitment to inclusive policies.
