Anbalagan Takes Charge as Pro Tem Speaker in Puducherry
AIADMK's A Anbalagan was sworn in as pro tem speaker of the Puducherry Assembly. The ceremony was held in Lok Niwas, attended by prominent political figures. Anbalagan will induct newly elected legislators on May 20. He represents Uppalam, having won against DMK in the recent elections.

AIADMK legislator A Anbalagan officially assumed the role of pro tem speaker of the Puducherry Assembly in a ceremony held at Lok Niwas on Monday.
Lt Governor K Kailashnathan administered the oath in Tamil, attended by a host of prominent figures including Chief Minister N Rangasamy and BJP leader A Namassivayam.
Anbalagan, who wrested the Uppalam seat from the DMK in the April 9 elections, will oversee the induction of newly elected legislators on May 20, a ceremony set to be broadcast live across public venues.
