A man from Odisha's Ganjam district was tragically killed in a drone attack by Ukraine in the Moscow region, officials confirmed on Monday. The victim, A Rameya, aged 30, was a structure fitter at a construction company within Gazaprom oil refinery.
The attack, which resulted in injuries to two other colleagues, occurred when the trio was waiting for a bus after their night shift. Efforts are underway, facilitated by the Ganjam district administration, to bring Rameya's body back to India.
The incident has saddened Madhabandha village, where Rameya recently spent time. His family, overwhelmed by the tragedy, is coordinating with Indian officials for the repatriation. The Russian embassy in New Delhi extended condolences in a recent social media post.
