Tamil Nadu Minister for Public Works and Sports Development Adhav Arjuna on Wednesday extended an invitation to Congress, VCK and IUML to join the TVK government's cabinet.

He said that the Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay wants the cabinet to function as ''one family'' with the parties such as Congress, VCK, CPI, CPI-M and IUML, which primarily helped to form the government.

Arjuna alleged that the DMK and AIADMK have tried to prevent the TVK party from forming a government by aligning with each other to come to power.

''Both the CM and the TVK party share the same vision that the leaders and parties committed to functioning on the principles of social justice should join the Cabinet. In particular, the Congress came forward and extended immense support to us, placing their trust in our leader''.

Claiming that the chief minister has emphasised that Congress must join the Cabinet, Arjuna said: ''At the same time, we will always respect the policy decision of the Left parties to extend support from outside''.

Stating that the TVK government will always be committed to social justice and will remain steadfast in the secular principles, Adhav Arjuna said, ''Similarly, we extend an invitation to the leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) led by chief Thol Thirumavalavan, to participate in the cabinet, which is also the wish of the Chief Minister''.

''A consultative meeting of those parties is currently underway, and the subject of joining the cabinet is being discussed,'' he said, adding, ''We believe that good news will emerge soon''.

Adhav Arjuna also explained that the AIADMK rebel group led by C Ve Shanmugam supported the TVK during the floor test with the aim of ''saving'' their party and not for ministerial berths.

''They made every effort to intervene here and impose Governor's Rule or President's Rule. The parties behind this attempt were the DMK and the AIADMK specifically,'' he alleged.

He alleged that DMK ''devised every possible strategy right up until the last minute, aiming to forge an alliance with AIADMK to form a coalition government through back door entry by overturning the verdict of the Tamil people''.

To another question with regard to the expansion of the cabinet, he said the chief minister will take a decision soon.
