An FIR has been registered against a man in Bihar's Gaya Ji district for allegedly issuing a death threat to Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and making objectionable remarks against him, police said on Thursday.

During social media monitoring by the district's Cyber Police Station, a video came to notice in which a person was seen ''abusing Jitan Ram Manjhi, issuing a death threat and making objectionable comments'', said a statement issued by the Gaya Ji SSP office.

The man, identified as Rajesh Rao (Sardar), was seen making inflammatory remarks against the minister for seeking action against the Mohanpur police sub-inspector.

Manjhi had on Monday demanded time-bound action against the Mohanpur SI, following an attack on the convoy of Barachatti MLA Jyoti Manjhi, a relative of the minister.

The man, in the purported video, warned Manjhi for seeking action against the police officer, belonging to the Yadav community, and said he, too, would be attacked.

The purported video appears to disturb peace and order and adversely affect law and order, the police said, adding that a case has been registered against the accused man.

Manjhi had warned of gheraoing the residences of senior district officials if action was not taken against the Mohanpur SI.
