Fresh off a historic mandate in the recently concluded Kerala Assembly elections, the newly elected BJP MLA for Nemom constituency here, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, has announced the rollout of a 24-hour legislator's office.

Scheduled to begin operations in the first week of June, the initiative's absolute centerpiece is a dedicated, round-the-clock ambulance service facility based right within the constituency.

Chandrasekhar, who is also the BJP Kerala State President, is among the three saffron party MLAs elected to the Kerala Assembly this time.

Speaking at the 'Nandi Nemom' public reception meetings held in Estate, Karumam and Kalady wards of the constituency on Thursday, the MLA said the new office is aimed at ensuring people get help at any time, especially during emergencies.

The round-the-clock ambulance support is expected to benefit patients and families who often struggle to find timely transport during late-night medical situations.

''The people of Nemom elected me to bring change in their lives. The MLA office should become a place where people can reach out without hesitation, day or night,'' he said.

Apart from direct interaction at the MLA office twice a week and at the BJP state office once a week, people will also be able to contact him through phone and email.

He said ward-level public interaction meetings involving the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and councillors would also be organised once every two months.

Chandrasekhar said his immediate focus in Nemom would be on solving issues related to drinking water shortage, waste management and waterlogging.

He added that development activities in the constituency would be carried out in coordination with the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation, the state government and the Centre.

He also warned that there would be a strong response if the state government discriminates against BJP constituencies in development matters.

He added that the people of Nemom elected him as MLA to bring meaningful change to their lives.

At the event, BJP city district president Karamana Jayan said the BJP's growing presence in Thiruvananthapuram reflects the confidence people have placed in the party and its leadership.
