The BJP on Sunday swept the re-poll in Falta with a victory margin of more than one lakh votes in the constituency long seen as a citadel of the TMC, whose nominee slipped to the fourth place and forfeited his deposit.
''People of Falta have spoken! Democracy has won and intimidation has lost. Congratulations to Shri Debangshu Panda Ji for winning in Falta by a record margin. It indicates the unwavering faith of the people of West Bengal towards the BJP,'' Modi said in a post on 'X'.
