In the heart of Tamil Nadu's Perambalur district, simmering political tensions boiled over as members of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) clashed at the Kunnam bus stand. The incident followed a disagreement over political honors and party alliances after the recent state assembly elections.

Adding fuel to the fire, DMK's Deputy General Secretary and Nilgiris MP A Raja shared a controversial social media post, indirectly criticizing the recent political maneuvers involving the VCK. His commentary drew the ire of the VCK, exacerbating the strained relations between the two political entities.

Despite police prohibiting demonstrations, both parties congregated at the site, leading to a confrontation that quickly escalated into physical violence with stone-pelting and stick-wielding. Law enforcement swiftly intervened, dispersing the agitated crowds and temporarily shuttering local businesses as a precautionary measure to maintain peace.
