Karnataka Legislative Council Elections Set for June
Elections for seven Karnataka Legislative Council seats will be held on June 18. The tenures of current members, including Congress's Govinda Raju, are ending. Notifications begin from June 1, with final vote counting on June 18. Nomination closing is set for June 8.

Biennial elections to seven Karnataka Legislative Council seats from the MLAs' quota will be held on June 18, the EC said on Tuesday.
The terms of the seven MLCs elected by MLAs are due to expire on June 30.
Among those retiring are Congress members Govinda Raju, Naseer Ahmed, Tippannappa, and B K Hariprasad, and BJP members N Nagaraju (MTB), Prathap Simha Nayak K, and Sunil Vallyapur.
Notifications for the polls will be issued on June 1.
The last date for filing nominations is June 8, while scrutiny of nominations will take place the following day, the Election Commission said in a release.
The last date for withdrawal of candidatures is June 11.
Counting of votes will take place on June 18 after polling concludes, it added.
