Anurag Thakur, a Member of Parliament from Hamirpur, cast his vote in the Samirpur panchayat elections in Himachal Pradesh, asserting that BJP has strong public backing. Speaking about the elections, Thakur indicated that voters are expressing dissatisfaction with the current Congress-led state government.

The second phase of the elections saw participation from a diverse electoral base, including a significant number of women, as 61.67% of voters turned out by early afternoon. With seats heavily reserved for women, the elections aim to further grassroots development. Meanwhile, 50.89 lakh citizens are eligible to elect over 31,000 representatives across three phases.

Polling began early, with voters lining up to cast their votes, reflecting a diligent democratic spirit. Results will be declared post-counting, with some delays anticipated for specific municipal segments. The polling process is supported by a color-coded ballot system, enhancing the electoral procedure's clarity and efficiency.
