As he prepares to assume office on June 3, Karnataka's Chief Minister-elect D K Shivakumar has made a plea to his supporters for controlled celebrations. He has asked them to refrain from presenting garlands during the festivities due to an allergy.
Shivakumar, acknowledging the anticipation from his ascension, encouraged party workers to avoid overcrowding and to participate from a distance if possible. While appreciating their enthusiasm, he reiterated that such joyful expressions should not involve garlands. "I urge everyone to understand my position and help maintain decorum," he added.
The prospective Chief Minister reflected on his long-standing association with the Congress since his student days, interpreting his leadership role as a realization of party workers' aspirations. Emphasizing this sentiment, he expressed approval for celebrations, noting that his new role is a milestone for all party workers.
