Netanyahu Orders Strikes on Hezbollah Territories Amid Escalating Tensions
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed military attacks on Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut after multiple ceasefire violations by the group. The ongoing conflict, part of the broader Iran war, has led to significant casualties and displacement among both Lebanese and Israelis since March.
In a significant escalation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has authorized strikes on Hezbollah-held territories in Beirut's southern suburb, Dahiyeh. This move comes amid ongoing ceasefire violations attributed to Hezbollah.
According to an official statement, repeated attacks on Israeli cities and citizens, as well as violations of the ceasefire, prompted Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz to take military action against terrorist targets.
Since the conflict erupted in March, over 3,370 individuals have perished, with additional displacement affecting over 1.2 million Lebanese. Concurrently, Israel reports casualties and ongoing rocket attacks, compelling the relocation of thousands from northern regions.
