A young labourer tragically lost his life in a mudslide on Wednesday while he was working on a 20-feet-deep ditch in Delhi's Dwarka. The 22-year-old, identified as Pintoo, was among three labourers trapped by the sudden collapse of mud.
The ditch was part of an underground sewerage project on Surukhpur road. Despite efforts by rescue teams who were quickly dispatched following a distress call, Pintoo succumbed to his injuries. His two colleagues, though involved in the mishap, managed to escape unharmed and declined medical attention.
Authorities have since registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause and accountability for the incident.
