Traffic was restored on Rafi Marg after an uprooted tree near the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) building was efficiently removed by the New Delhi Municipal Council's (NDMC) Quick Response Team, officials confirmed on Friday afternoon.

The early-morning incident momentarily obstructed vehicular flow near Patel Chowk and the RBI premises, prompting the NDMC team to act swiftly and resolve the issue, according to an official statement.

Environmentalists voiced concerns regarding the persistence of this problem, citing unchecked urbanisation and the concreting of tree bases as contributing factors. Expert Verhaen Khanna highlighted the need for civic bodies to focus on rehabilitating fallen trees rather than simply removing them.
