Punjab cabinet minister Mohinder Bhagat on Monday inaugurated a newly constructed fire station at the sports and surgical complex. Built at a cost of Rs 1.29 crore, the facility promises timely management of fire incidents.

With the support of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Minister Bhagat expressed gratitude, reiterating the project's role in safeguarding the area's sports, surgical, leather, and rubber industries. The fire station is equipped with advanced vehicles, including a 12,000-litre capacity vehicle, two 6,000-litre vehicles, and a rescue tender.

Additionally, an underground water storage tank with a capacity of 1 lakh litres, powered by a 20-horsepower motor, enhances the station's emergency response capability. Bhagat highlighted ongoing efforts to bolster the state's infrastructure and meet long-standing public demands. Mayor Vineet Dhir joined the celebration, applauding the fire station's anticipated impact on fire safety.
