The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is set to introduce a digital parking initiative at eight strategic sites, including prominent areas like Karol Bagh and Lajpat Nagar. This move will enable seamless, cashless transactions through FASTag for cars and various digital payment platforms for two-wheelers.
The project aligns with a broader plan to digitize civic services, with specific locations identified for the rollout in its inaugural phase. The sites include prominent areas such as Nehru Place (Outer and Inner Ring), Shastri Park, and Kashmere Gate ISBT, among others.
The civic body has issued a tender to select an agency tasked with managing, operating, and collecting digital parking charges at these sites. The contract requires agency involvement in technological deployments and revenue transparency, ensuring a smooth transition from manual to digital systems with real-time data sharing via a central dashboard.
