The Delhi government has issued urgent directives to district magistrates to address 71 critical waterlogging areas, which require collaboration between multiple agencies.

According to the Public Works Department (PWD), there are now 410 waterlogging points in Delhi, with 335 under PWD jurisdiction. A notable 71 points face coordination issues among the PWD, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC), and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has stressed the need for immediate action, as monsoon approaches. Departments have been ordered to carry out necessary works, such as desilting and pump automation, within strict timelines to prevent urban disruption.
