The incident occurred on Saturday evening when one youth attempted to bathe and was caught in the river's strong currents. A second youth tried to rescue him, but both perished. Divers have since recovered one body, with searches for the second ongoing.
The deceased have been identified as Ritansh Bali from village Kalsehda and Vikas Sharma from Ludhiana. This heartbreaking event highlights the dangers of underestimating natural water forces.
In a separate incident, another youth lost his life after falling off an iron platform at Vardhman Steel Industry in Haroli district. Despite immediate medical attention at a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, marking another sorrowful event for the community.
