The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen K T Parnaik (Retd), has underscored the necessity for coordinated efforts among government bodies, educational institutions, and local communities to drive sustainable development across the Himalayan region.
Addressing the threats posed by climate change and glacial retreat, Parnaik affirmed that clean water in the Himalayas is essential for survival. He articulated this during the inauguration of the three-day 'HIM Samwaad 2025' dialogue, held at the Golden Jubilee banquet hall.
Organized by Sewa International with Riwatch and the state government, the event aims to bring policymakers and grassroots leaders together to focus on health, water, and climate resilience. Parnaik also praised the state's achievements and called for diplomatic cooperation in managing transboundary resources.
