In a tragic incident in Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, five people have lost their lives due to suspected inhalation of poisonous gas. This occurred as they attempted to rescue a calf that had fallen into a well.
According to District Collector Kishore Kanyal, the incident transpired at approximately 11 am on Tuesday. Preliminary reports suggest that six individuals went down the well, resulting in the immediate deaths of three, while two others were rescued but later succumbed to their conditions at the Guna district hospital.
Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the exact cause, with initial suspicions pointing towards carbon monoxide inhalation. The rescue operation, which involved CISF and local agencies, was hampered by the well's water depth and other challenges.
