A man was injured following a dramatic encounter with a leopard near a village in the Dhaurahra range, North Kheri Forest Division, Uttar Pradesh. This incident, confirmed by officials on Wednesday, also left several villagers, a forest guard, and a police officer injured during the rescue attempt.

Mihilal, aged 35, was at a local brick kiln when the four-year-old leopard suddenly attacked, trying to pull him towards a nearby orchard. Displaying remarkable courage, Mihilal managed to grapple with the animal, holding it by the neck. Villagers joined in, throwing bricks to repel the leopard.

The chaos left the leopard subdued and tranquilised. Meanwhile, another leopard in distress was rescued the same day in Jatpurwa village. Veterinarians are examining both animals, and injured individuals are recovering in the district hospital. Further developments are expected as authorities assess the situation.
