Efforts are in full swing to rescue tourists from Maharashtra stranded at Yamunotri Dham, a vital Char Dham site in Uttarakhand. The Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde confirmed ongoing coordination with Uttarakhand authorities to ensure the safety of those affected.
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde, in communication with the pilgrims, assured assistance for their safety, emphasizing the government's commitment to bringing them to safety in Rishikesh. Officials state that 150 people from Maharashtra are currently stranded.
The incident, triggered by a cloudburst-induced landslide, blocked key routes to the pilgrimage site. District officials reported progress in road restoration, affirming that those stranded are safe and supplied with essentials.
