Heavy rains have significantly impacted Telangana over the last 24 hours, leading to widespread waterlogging and disruption of daily life. Officials, anticipating further rainfall based on IMD forecasts, are intensifying precautionary actions.
In Hyderabad, the showers began as "light to moderate" on Tuesday night, continuing through Wednesday. State Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, following the directives of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, organized a review meeting with senior officials to evaluate preparedness.
In an official statement, Prabhakar exhorted residents to remain vigilant and ordered the implementation of measures to reduce public inconvenience. This includes deploying special teams at 141 waterlogging hotspots in Hyderabad, keeping disaster response teams on standby, and recommending Work From Home arrangements in light of the challenging conditions.
