Odisha Braces for Intense Downpour as Depression Intensifies
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across Odisha due to a depression forming over the Bay of Bengal. This will cause extremely heavy rainfall in some areas, particularly on Friday. A red warning has been issued for certain districts and safety measures are advised.

The forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department warns of heavy rainfall across Odisha as a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal intensifies into a depression.
Odisha is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall with some areas receiving more than 21 cm of rain on Friday. A red warning for extremely heavy rainfall has been issued for Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts, while an orange warning is in effect for ten other districts.
The Special Relief Commissioner's Office has cautioned district collectors to prepare administrative systems for potential emergencies. Fishermen have been advised against venturing into the sea off north Odisha's coast until July 28.
