India has registered a seven percent increase in rainfall compared to the norm since the monsoon onset on June 1, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Despite the overall increase, rainfall distribution has been uneven across states.

The country received a total of 447.8 mm of rain against a typical 418.9 mm during this period, with significant regional variations. States such as Rajasthan and Ladakh experienced large surplus, while Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh faced deficits.
