Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Vipul Goel, conducted an inspection at the Bandhwari landfill site located on the Gurugram-Faridabad road on Monday. The visit focused on evaluating the ongoing beautification projects initiated by the Gurugram municipal corporation.
According to an official statement, Minister Goel announced a large-scale plantation campaign set for Sunday, August 4, aiming to prioritize proper leachate disposal at the waste management plant. He also urged the acceleration of the tender process for handling legacy waste.
Pradeep Dahiya, the corporation's commissioner, remarked on the rapid progress of the beautification work. He reported the completion of a view cutter installment to shield the site from road view and highlighted a tender floated for further works, estimated at Rs 96 lakh, including tree guards and landscaping. The corporation began installing a boundary wall and drainage system on July 14, with a projected cost of Rs 2 crore. Currently, leachate is being transferred to the nearest sewage treatment plant.
