Bengaluru's Sustainability Mafia, known as SusMafia, has launched India's first-ever Climate-Tech Opportunity Map. This groundbreaking initiative, targeting early-stage entrepreneurs, features startup-ready concepts with the capacity to slash the nation's carbon emissions by up to 72%. This aligns with SusMafia's dedication to backing climate founders through its SusVentures program, which converts ideas into actionable plans.
According to Aneesa Patel, co-founder of SusVentures, the program supports early teams in validating their concepts, accelerating market entry, and accessing a network of climate mentors, investors, and pilot partners. The map prioritizes high-impact sectors such as energy, industry, agriculture, and water, indicating ripe opportunities in textile recycling, decentralised energy storage, agri-biomass utilization, and water-stress detection.
The opportunity map, co-authored by Bharti Singhla of Momentum Capital and Paridhi Mishra of Climate Corps, is a call to action for entrepreneurs keen to tackle India's pressing climate issues. This initiative represents a significant step in fostering an ecosystem conducive to sustainable development and innovation.
