A tragic cloudburst in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, has resulted in flash floods claiming the lives of three family members and causing widespread damage. Over 20 vehicles are buried, and several homes are submerged, rendering the situation dire, according to officials on Tuesday.
Heavy rainfall totaling 202.6 mm since Monday evening has worsened conditions. Vital areas like Jail Road and the zonal hospital are particularly devastated. Rescue teams, including NDRF, police, and home guards, have rescued and provided safe shelter to affected residents.
The damage is extensive, leading to the closure of schools and infrastructures like roads and power lines. Authorities have advised residents to avoid the Beas river due to high water levels. Despite rescue efforts, damage assessments and recovery operations continue in the aftermath of this natural disaster.
