In a bid to elevate the cleanliness standards in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has unveiled an ambitious incentive program, offering cash rewards ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore. This initiative is part of the 'Delhi Freedom from Garbage' drive set to commence in August.

The program promises a hefty Rs 25 lakh for the top-performing Resident Welfare Association (RWA), with subsequent rewards of Rs 15 lakh and Rs 10 lakh for second and third place, respectively. The cleanest ward will secure Rs 50 lakh, while the assembly constituency exhibiting the best sanitation will be rewarded with Rs 1 crore.

Participants must document their efforts with before-and-after photos uploaded to a dedicated portal, serving as evidence for prize allocation. Gupta emphasized inter-agency collaboration, involving the MCD, PWD, Delhi Police, and others to ensure a collective approach under the campaign's banner, "Meri Delhi, Meri Zimmedari" (My Delhi, My Responsibility).
