Shanghai on High Alert: Navigating Natural Turmoil
Shanghai took preemptive measures as tropical storm Co-May hit eastern China with gales and heavy rain, causing significant disruptions in transportation and heightened safety protocols. The city's airports faced numerous flight cancellations, and public transport services were affected. A tsunami warning, later lifted, added to concerns of possible storm surges.

Shanghai has implemented major safety measures as severe weather conditions brought by tropical storm Co-May batter the city. With over 280,000 people relocated, Shanghai's public transportation, including flights and ferries, has faced widespread disruptions, and speed limits have been enforced on roads to ensure public safety.
The storm made its presence felt in Zhoushan early Wednesday, prompting swift action to minimize its impact. An accompanying tsunami warning, triggered by a distant earthquake in Russia, initially heightened the alert, but was later rescinded, alleviating concerns over storm surges.
Though the storm affected Shanghai, the city skillfully prepared for the worst. Authorities canceled over 640 flights, including significant disruptions at both of Shanghai's key airports. As coastal regions brace for water level rises, Shanghai's resilient response highlights its preparedness against natural calamities.
