The Union Environment Minister, Bhupender Yadav, announced the resolution's backing by 172 contracting parties and several international organizations. The resolution highlights the significance of individual action and societal choices in protecting the planet's wetlands, emphasizing a shift towards pro-environmental living.
The resolution also focuses on encouraging public-private collaborations and educational initiatives to foster sustainable practices across various levels of policy and community engagement, reflecting India's commitment to sustainable development principles.
