In response, Beijing officials have launched extensive disaster relief operations, focusing on the severely affected northern mountainous districts of Miyun and Yanqing, where heavy rains disrupted power supply and caused road damage.
In addition to local efforts, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of ensuring people's safety, and the government allocated 350 million yuan for relief efforts in nine regions, including Beijing, underlining the national commitment to addressing the crisis brought by the devastating floods.
