In a late-night incident in Indiranagar, ten individuals found themselves trapped in a lift for three hours. Among those stuck were nine restaurant workers and a lone customer, officials disclosed this Thursday.
The lift malfunctioned around midnight on Tuesday, coming to a halt between floors and failing to open its doors upon reaching the basement. Tough initial attempts to force open the doors proved futile, prompting the staff to summon emergency services.
Chief Fire Officer Ankush Mittal reported a fire tender, outfitted with the necessary rescue apparatus, was dispatched to the scene. The emergency crew successfully opened the doors by 3 am on Wednesday. No police action followed the incident, according to Mittal.
