The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched a new initiative to secure Bhalswa Lake against pollution, thanks to a tender for constructing a concrete wall around it. This move aims to curb illegal waste dumping and encroachment.
Spanning 112 acres in north Delhi, the lake is near the Bhalswa landfill and a dairy colony, making it susceptible to environmental threats. Besides its preservation, the site is part of a larger green transformation effort in Delhi.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who spearheaded the landfill reclamation two years ago, has ambitious plans to plant thousands of trees, setting the stage for a vibrant green zone in the heart of the city.
