The Indore Municipal Corporation has announced the development of a groundbreaking mobile application designed to offer paid, on-demand scrap collection services, officials confirmed Friday. This initiative will reportedly make Indore the first urban local body in India to implement such a service via a mobile app.

Indore, known as the cleanest city in India for eight consecutive years according to the Centre's Swacch Survekshan, continues to innovate in waste management. The city's new mobile app aims to facilitate the collection of electronic waste, old furniture, broken glass, and other miscellaneous scrap items not addressed by traditional waste collection methods.

According to Indore's Mayor, Pushyamitra Bhargav, the app—slated for launch by Independence Day—will enable users to request scrap pickup services and complete payments online. This pioneering move is expected to set a benchmark for other urban bodies across the nation.
