Quantum Biosciences Private Limited, a Bengaluru-based startup, is making headway in cancer diagnostics with their cutting-edge quantum technology. By using a quantum biosensor to detect unique magnetic fingerprints of oxidative stress in cells, they promise to identify tissue injury before symptoms even show.
Founded by Ravi Puvvala, who was inspired by his wife's cancer treatment experience, the company aims to prevent radiation-induced damage with this futuristic tech. Partnering with QT Sense from the Netherlands, Quantum Biosciences employs a platform technology capable of detecting subcellular phenomena like free radicals and magnetic biomarkers.
While acknowledging the need for further research to map cellular stress to potential biomarkers, Puvvala envisions this technology transforming how early diagnosis is approached in not just oncology, but also nephrology, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases. Currently incubating its research at C-CAMP and CeNSE in Bengaluru, the company is poised to work with hospitals worldwide to gather data and refine their solutions.
