Inferno in Los Padres: Firefighters Battle Unyielding Blaze
A massive wildfire in Los Padres National Forest, California, threatens hundreds of homes and has injured three people. The Gifford Fire spans over 259 square km and is just 3% contained. Over 1,000 firefighters combat the blaze as erratic winds pose additional challenges.

In central California, a massive wildfire is ravaging Los Padres National Forest, posing a significant threat to hundreds of homes and resulting in injuries to at least three individuals, authorities confirmed.
Dubbed the Gifford Fire, the blaze spans more than 259 square kilometers across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, with containment at a mere 3%, per the latest incident report issued on Monday.
Originating from multiple smaller fires that ignited along State Route 166 last Friday, the fire now threatens over 450 structures. Emergency response teams are working against the clock as sundowner winds are expected to exacerbate the situation, complicating firefighting efforts.
