Tragedy on the Highway: Leopard's Life Cut Short

A leopard met a tragic end when it was struck by a vehicle in West Bengal's Alipurduar district. The accident happened on the Asian Highway in the Madarihat area, as the animal attempted to cross the road on Sunday evening.

Forest department personnel were notified promptly and arrived at the scene to retrieve the leopard's body, according to a forest official on Tuesday.

This incident has brought to light ongoing concerns among locals who argue that such accidents are frequent. They urge officials to implement stricter speed regulations for vehicles traveling in the area to safeguard wildlife.
