Several major rivers in Uttar Pradesh, including the Ganga, Yamuna, and Sharda, have begun to recede but remain perilously above the danger mark at multiple locations, posing significant risks. The Ganga is rising at Kachhla Bridge in Budaun and stable in Ghazipur, while it has started to recede in Prayagraj, Ballia, Mirzapur, and Varanasi. Meanwhile, the Yamuna has crossed the red mark at Naini in Prayagraj and is beginning to fall.
According to the State Flood Management Information System, the Ghagra river is also a cause for concern, flowing above the danger mark in Ayodhya and at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki. It continues to rise in Ayodhya, though it remains stable at Elgin Bridge. The Rapti River is similarly near danger levels in Bhinga and Rapti Barage in Shravasti.
The Sharda river, flowing above danger in Palliakalan, Lakhimpur Kheri, is also showing signs of receding. Continuous monitoring of river levels is underway to manage the flood situation effectively and prevent further disasters.
