The recent torrential rains in central Maharashtra have resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals in Nanded district. Heavy rainfall has caused rivers and streams to surge, flooding multiple areas and cutting off villages from essential services.

Officials reported excess rainfall, exceeding 65 mm in 24 hours, in nine tehsils, including Kandhar and Mukhed. Continued heavy rains on Saturday exacerbated the flooding, causing further disruption. Among the deceased, Shaikh Nasar and Shaikh Hasina, lost their lives when their home's wall collapsed, while Premsingh Pawar drowned when his school van was swept away by floodwaters.

Several villages are isolated due to damaged infrastructure. Affected areas include Siranjani and Siloda, while connections to other villages were severed as water inundated roads and bridges. The state remains on alert as attempts to restore normalcy continue in the affected regions.
