The Yamuna River in Delhi has surpassed its warning level, reaching 204.60 metres at the Old Railway Bridge by 7 pm on Sunday, as informed by officials.

Although the warning mark for the city is 204.50 metres, officials remain wary as the river approaches its danger mark of 205.33 metres. The situation is being monitored closely, with agencies on alert to implement precautionary flood measures.

Heavy volumes of water released from the Wazirabad and Hathnikund barrages are causing the river level to rise. The Hathnikund barrage is releasing 127,030 cusecs per hour, while Wazirabad adds an additional 45,620 cusecs. Flood risks are projected to continue as released water takes up to two days to reach Delhi.
